May Was In Bloom |
When we first met with Krystal and Zach, Krystal told us she grew up in South Carolina and really liked the old antebellum style homes. With that in mind, we thought that Mount Airy Mansion in Upper Marlboro would be the perfect place for her and she loved it! Krystal really loves flowers and we met with several florists before she chose to work with Christine of Fleur de Lis. Christine created beautiful bouquets for the ladies, floral wands for the flower girls and fabulous arrangements for the tables. All incorporated some of Krystal’s favorite colors of hot pink, purple and yellow. Going along with her floral garden theme, Krystal choose to display her guests seating assignments on wooden flowers set on dowels in a bed of wheat grass.
Krystal and Zach first met in medical school on the beautiful island of St Maarten and wanted to add a little Caribbean flavor to their menu. Pineapple Alley Catering came up with a stations menu that included Caribbean, Southern and of course Maryland foods. After a beautiful outdoor ceremony, (which included their English Bulldog Mosley as ring bearer) guests enjoyed cocktails on the grounds. Catering Staff butlered hors d’oeuvres and Krystal and Zach’s signature drinks of Firefly’s and non-alcoholic Daiquiris. After dinner and dancing, guests were treated to a decadent chocolate bar from Parfections. They indulged on a variety of Chocolate truffles, bark and fruits dipped in dark and white chocolate. To end the night, guests were invited to fill up goody bags with assorted yellow, pink and purple candies from Krystal and Zach’s Candy Bar.
